Motherwell have been granted planning permission to build a new permanent training facility at Dalziel Park, transforming the club’s long-term infrastructure. The Premiership side, who finished 4th in the 2025 table with 54 points (14W-12D-7L), will now develop a synthetic pitch, floodlights, and a two-storey building featuring changing rooms, a gym, offices, and medical facilities.

This will free up space at Fir Park for commercial use and allow first-team players to prepare on-site rather than commuting in kit. Chief executive Brian Caldwell called it a “hugely exciting project” for the club and community.
The development at Dalziel Park, near Carfin, aligns with Motherwell’s recent investments, including upgrades to three grass pitches to Premiership standards. Longer-term, the facility will serve women’s, academy, and community teams. The club’s recent form (WLDLW) and +23 goal difference (52 scored, 29 conceded) last season show their ambition to compete at the highest level.
Motherwell also confirmed an appeal against a £5,000 SFA fine for a social media post following their May defeat by Celtic. On the pitch, they prepare for the Premiership opener at Hibernian, with new loan signing Jamie Knight-Lebel, a 21-year-old Canada international defender from Bristol City, adding depth to the squad.
