Motherwell completed their tenth summer signing with the arrival of Jardell Kanga from Finnish side Ilves. The 20-year-old Swedish midfielder joins for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal, with the club holding an option for a further year. Manager Alfred Johansson said he had followed Kanga closely for years and had previously tried to sign him.
"Jardell is a player I have followed closely for a number of years," Johansson stated in the club's announcement. "I have admired his ability for years, and I'm so pleased I'll finally be able to work with him." Kanga, a product of the IF Brommapojkarna academy, made his professional debut at 15 and was named in the Guardian's 2022 list of top players born in 2005. He has played for Swedish youth sides up to Under-21 level.
