Motherwell manager Mark McGhee has revealed he was offered the Hearts job during Vladimir Romanov's reign. McGhee managed Motherwell and Hearts' rivals Aberdeen during his career. The 69-year-old made the revelation on the BBC's Sacked in the Morning podcast. McGhee said he nearly took the Hearts job but decided against it. He joked that the parameters of the job included getting phone calls from Romanov during matches. McGhee has had a long and successful career in football, managing several clubs including Brighton, Bristol Rovers, and Dundee. He also worked as Gordon Strachan's assistant manager with the Scottish national team.
